About Us
Since 1923, Lebo's has been known for carrying hard-to-find sizes and an extensive selection of comfort brand shoes, sandals, boots, western wear, cowboy boots, equestrian gear, work wear, apparel and dancewear for men, women and children.
At our 6 Lebo's stores in North Carolina and South Carolina, we provide a unique, full-service experience for selecting and purchasing only the best brands of fashionable, comfort footwear for the whole family. In fact, we only carry brands that are truly good for your feet.

In 1923 Sidney Levin opened the first Lebo's in uptown Charlotte, NC. Initially, Lebo's began with footwear for the entire family, specializing in hard to fit feet. With children's sizes from infant's 00 to women's sizes to 13 from AAAA to EE and men's sizes to 17 EEEEE, Lebo's developed a strong client base. By personally fitting feet to assure proper fit, Lebo's until this day is known for service, sizes and selection.

In 1952, Jerry Levin, our CEO, expanded Lebo's by adding a dancewear department, offering everything from ballet to jazz dance products. By 1963, Lebo's became a national leader in dance costumes with its Colorama catalog. The "Barbette" label, founded by Jerry, is now a well-known name in dancewear across North America and Europe. In 1964, Jerry introduced a western wear department, catering to local equestrians and farmers with products like saddles, bridles, and riding attire. Our motto, "We sell everything but the horse," and Lebo's Boot Hill, featuring boots from exotic skins to steel-toe waterproof, showcase our diverse range of products.

In 1984, Mark Goldsmith, Mr. Levin's son-in-law, joined the company with expertise in sales and management and is responsible for expanding Lebo's to its current retail store locations. Mark is President and oversees all store purchasing and operations.

In 1992, Binyamin Leving, Mr. Levin's son, joined Lebo's and spearheaded the design and development of Lebo's computerized inventory control and management information systems. Binyamin is Vice President and oversees our inventory control system and Internet development.

In 2008, Brian Goldsmith, Mark Goldsmith's son, joined the Lebo's management team. A graduate of North Carolina State University, he became a Certified Pedorthist, specializing in treating foot ailments with orthotics and foot lifts. Brian began his career with Lebo's as a salesperson in the stores throughout high school and returned after eventually leaving a position at Northwestern Mutual. Brian oversees the wholesale dancewear and costume department as well as marketing and business development.

In 2013, Tracy Goldsmith Lisk, Mark Goldsmith's daughter, joined the Lebo's management team. A graduate of Wingate University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Tracy worked in the stores as a salesperson throughout high school and returned after working as a preschool teacher. Tracy oversees the Internet Department.

In 2023, Lebo's proudly celebrated its 100-year anniversary, marking a century of family-owned dedication to quality, service, and customer satisfaction. As part of this milestone, Lebo's launched exclusive anniversary collections, hosted community events, and deepened its commitment to customer-first service.
